About Me

I am Elizabeth Johnson, owner of Dyslexia Assessment Epsom

I am a qualified primary school teacher and specialist assessor of dyslexia and dyscalculia, with expertise in assessing literacy- and maths-related learning difficulties in both children and adults. I have over ten years’ experience working as a special educational needs teacher within primary education and have completed Master’s-level study in Special Educational Needs, giving me a strong theoretical and practical understanding of the barriers some learners face.

My professional experience has given me extensive insight into the challenges children and young people may encounter with literacy, mathematics, memory, and information processing, as well as how these difficulties can impact confidence, learning, and long-term educational outcomes.

In addition to my professional background, I have personal experience of dyslexia, having received my own diagnosis while at college. The understanding, support, and appropriate adjustments I received enabled me to continue my education successfully at university. This personal insight strongly informs my empathetic and supportive approach to assessment.

Learning difficulties can affect a child throughout their education, and early identification is key to ensuring appropriate support and intervention can be put in place. My aim is to provide clear, thorough assessments and practical recommendations to support positive outcomes.

I am based in Stoneleigh (KT17) and provide assessments across Epsom, Ewell, Worcester Park, Cheam, Sutton, and surrounding areas.

Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to discuss an assessment for your child or for yourself, or if you have any questions or concerns.
